Enameled cast iron · Clyro
A whole kitchen in one glaze.
Seven pieces, poured heavy, finished in cream enamel inside so you can actually see a sauce turning. Cast iron is the only pan that gets better the longer you own it.
The iron
It holds heat the way stone holds sun.
Meat hits the surface and stays seared instead of dropping the pan cold and stewing in its own liquid. It goes from the hob into the oven without being asked twice.
It will sit at a barely-there simmer all afternoon without catching. Gas, electric and induction alike.
The cream interior
You can see the food.
A black interior hides everything. Against cream you can read a fond going from golden to burnt, and catch it at golden.
Enamel is glass, so nothing bonds to it the way it bonds to bare iron. No seasoning ritual, no oiling. Cook, wash, put it away.
What is in the set
The seven pieces.
Five vessels and two lids, glazed identically, so a full hob still reads as one service.
01 · 02
Dutch oven and its lid
Stews, bread, braises, stock. The lid seals its own weight down.
03 · 04
Braiser and its lid
Shallow and wide. Brown first, add liquid, put the lid on, forget about it.
05
Square grill pan
Ribbed. Steak, chops, halloumi, aubergine, and the fat that runs off them.
06
Roasting dish
Straight to the table. Gratins, lasagne, a tray of roots that stay hot while people talk.
07
Long-handled saucepan
Sauces, reductions, a small amount of something that must not catch.
Measurements and weights are approximate, as cast pieces are.
The pan you buy once and hand on.
Two ways it earns the shelf
Sunday, and everything after it.
The long braise
Something tough and cheap, a lid, and four hours. The Dutch oven is the piece that turns a shoulder into a Sunday.
Straight to the table
The roasting dish and the braiser are made to be carried out and set down. Nothing is decanted, nothing goes cold on the way.
Photographs are taken under studio light. Screen colour is not a reliable guide to a glaze.

Questions
Before you order.
Is it heavy?
Yes, and that is the point. The weight is the heat retention. The set lands at around thirty kilos all told, so give it a shelf rather than a high cupboard.
Does it work on induction?
Yes, and on gas, electric and in the oven. Cast iron is magnetic by nature, so every hob reads it.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
It will survive one. Hand washing keeps the enamel looking like the photographs, particularly the cream inside.
Will the enamel chip?
Treat it like glass, because it is glass. No metal spatulas banging the rim, and let a hot pan cool before it meets cold water.
Do I need to season it?
No. Bare cast iron demands oiling and babysitting. Enameled cast iron demands nothing. Cook, wash, put it away.
How long does delivery take?
Shipping is free on every order. Most arrive within one to two weeks, with tracking from the moment the parcel is scanned.
