The House

The House

A table is the only room
that asks you to stay.

Clyro is a house of glassware, barware, candlelight and quiet objects for people who still lay a table properly — not for a photograph, for an evening.

Why we started with a glass

Everything on a table is horizontal except the glassware. Stems are the only thing standing up, which is why a room reads as dressed or undressed from the glasses alone.

So we began there: crystal bowls drawn thin, set on a slender scarlet stem with a black foot. Not a novelty colour — a single line of red running down a table that is otherwise white, wood and candlelight.

How we choose

01

Held to a standard

Every piece in the catalogue is selected and judged against things that cost far more. If it would not survive on a stricter table, it does not enter the house.

02

Built for use

Pieces meant to be carried to a table and washed afterwards. Nothing that lives in a cabinet out of fear.

03

Priced honestly

Luxury is a standard, not a price. Everything here is priced for the people who actually live with it.

The catalogue today

The glasses came first. Around them the shelves are filling: candlelight cut from black marble, flatware with onyx handles, and the Column corkscrew that stands beside the stems. Linen and porcelain follow as pieces earn their place.

We add a piece when it is right rather than when the calendar says so.
