The stem

One line of red down a white table.

The bowl is clear crystal drawn thin enough that the rim almost disappears against a lip. Below it, a slender scarlet stem — bright, not burgundy — on a glossy black foot, with a small black bead where the stem meets the bowl.

That is the whole design. No cut pattern, no gilding, no logo. In candlelight the stem is the thing people look at, and it does the work a centrepiece usually has to do.

The feeling

Guests notice before they sit.

A plain glass tells people it is dinner. These tell them it is an occasion — the same table, the same food, read completely differently.

That is the reason to own them. Not because the old glasses broke, but because some evenings deserve to be marked, and this is the cheapest possible way to mark one.

Black cloth, low candles, dark fruit, and one bright scarlet line running the length of it. The rare piece of Halloween styling you do not put away in November.

The Christmas table

Pine, white linen and red wax. The stem picks up every red already on the table and pulls the setting together, no centrepiece required.

Between the two it earns its shelf twice a year, and looks entirely at home on an ordinary Tuesday in between.

Questions

Before you order.

Are they actually hand-blown?

Yes — the bowls are blown and the stems pulled by hand, which is why the height and the fill vary slightly between glasses. Perfectly identical stems would mean a mould.

Is the red painted on?

No. The colour is in the glass of the stem itself, so it cannot chip, scratch off or fade with washing.

Can I put them in the dishwasher?

We do not recommend it. A thin hand-blown bowl on a slender stem takes heat and rattling badly. Warm water, a soft cloth, dried standing up.

What if one arrives broken?

Send us a photograph and we replace it. Every piece travels individually wrapped, but breakages are our problem, not yours.

Can I mix a burgundy pair with a white pair?

Yes, and it is the better-looking table. Every shape sits on the identical stem, so mixed shapes still read as one service.

How long does delivery take?
